Andrew's first Ocean Trip...

We went to the ocean with our pals, Erica, Isaac, Caleb, Ali, Maddie, and Sydney.  We had the most perfect weather and the kids had a blast!!! At one point in the day Grace was just running in circles on the sand, she was so excited.  And of course, she was in the water most of the day until her lips were actually purple! My little man enjoyed his day too, mostly just trying to eat mouthfuls of sand!

Some Firsts...

Grace is all ready for her first day of summer camp. She went to camp at the gym for three days. She had a blast swimming in the pool, doing crafts, having snacks, playing games and making new friends! Growing up too fast!
Andrew is my little fishy number 2!!! This was his first time in the pool.  I got this little one all ready for him with nice warm water from the sink.  Being that he doesn't like to sit though, this pool did not work for long.  He just tried to eat rocks from the ground and crawl out.
He also kept doing his best beach pose for us...hillarious!
...so we had to upgrade! He loved it!  The big pool was freezing, filled with hose water, but it didn't bother him a bit.  I've found out that he loves the lake as well.

Summer has started!

We enjoyed our first beach day with Uncle's Cal and Tim.  Grace seemed oblivious to the fact that it was mid-May and the water is freezing.  She swam for about 3 hours!
Andrew enjoyed his day at the beach.  He is not going to be as easy as I thought.  He stays on the blanket for about 3 seconds then he's off to shove fist fulls of sand in his mouth.

Andrew's first boat ride!
We went out Memorial Day weekend with Papa and Meme on the boat.  Both kids were great!  Grace was very concerned after Rick's hat blew into the water.  She is still asking me about it.  She is convinced that a fishy is wearing it swimming around.

Summer afternoons are great for napping!
Grace is headed off to work!

It was time...

Yes... that is my son in the pictures below.  After weeks of emotional preparation, I finally felt so guilty that my poor boy was constantly rubbing his eyes. So on May 19th, I brought him to get a hair cut.  I don't know what it is about the haircut... I guess its just such a definitive action stating that "Yes you are getting bigger."  It was kind of a sad day, but he did awesome.  He sat right in that chair, smiled and loved every minute of it.  Of course I had to do all the fun shots before we cut it off.  The stylist did a fantastic job, she cut it so he is comfortable but it's still Andrew's style! We saved a good envelope full of hair! My sister joked that we could have donated it!

7 Months Old!

Here's our happy boy!  At 7 months Andrew is:
-waking up twice a night
-taking 2-3 naps a day
-eating 3 meals and nursing 5-6 times
-loves to play on his belly
-loves Roxy
-loves Grace
-needs a haircut soon
-is feeding himself puffs and loves the mesh feeder
-is becoming attached to Mommy
He is a delight!

MOTHER'S DAY 2010

Mother's day is probably the most special holiday to me now.  I am so thankful for the gift that my children are to me.  I know that God chose both of them special just for Rick and I and it's amazing the love we have for them.  It may not always seem it, but I am so humbled and thankful every single day, that God chose me to be a Mom.

I know she won't always look at me this way, so this picture is priceless to me!

Papa and Meme came by on Mother's Day and allowed Rick and I to go out and pick out flowers for the house (my mother's day gift).  I guess Andrew got tired watching the game with Papa, so he settled himself in for a little cat nap.  How precious is he?

Andrew's 1st Visit to Bumpa and Mema's...

Andrew has very quickly learned that he would rather feed himself than have me feed him....
here's what it looks like!

Our first visit went very well.  Auntie Erica traveled to MN with us for our first airplane ride (Rick had to stay home to work).  We took the early flight out so we arrived by 10:30AM, layover and all.  I do have to say that by the time we landed, this Mama was pretty done and so was Erica.  But it was well worth it.  We had a great time visiting, going to the park, playing with the daycare kids, and the best part of course... the ZOO!  This was Grace's first trip to the Zoo and she had a blast.  She is still asking me if we can go on the airplane and go to the Zoo again.  This was the first time Grace didn't sleep in the room with me while we were away.  She slept on her own special bed in Bumpa and Mema's room.  They got to enjoy the delightful sleeping habits of my daughter.  And true to form, Andrew didn't sleep much either.  I don't know why my kids don't like to sleep????  After an all too short visit we headed back home, alone this time.  The kids did awesome.  I guess I knew better what worked and what didn't.  We are official travelers now!
Grace was all ready to go to the zoo.  She stood out in the garage asking if it was time to go for about an hour.  People were still sleeping when she was all dressed and ready to head out!
Thanks for a fun trip Bumpa and Mema!  See you soon!
